Koko's Story
Koko is the dog that started the journey that became our rescue.
Koko was on a Facebook page when Jennifer (Burl's sister)
saw his story. Koko was abandoned in South Texas and had been starving, going back to his only known home every day looking for his family. Jennifer knew she had to do something to help this beautiful dog. Arrangements were made for Koko to be transported to Colorado to Rita
(Burl's widow) to get him healthy. Rita has since adopted Koko as her own family member, and he is much loved.
Since then, we have continued the mission of helping rescue dogs and provide them a second chance. Our special focus is helping rescue dogs from Texas, as there is such a need there.
To date, we have sponsored and provided homes for over 40 dogs, placing them in homes in more than 15 different states.
